Dry Needling

What is dry needling:

Dry Needling (DN) is a skilled technique performed by a physical therapist using thin needles to penetrate the skin and/or underlying tissues to create change in body structures and function. DN is used to stimulate intramuscular trigger points in order to promote healing, improve circulation, reduce pain, and restore a neuromuscular balance. DN can be performed anywhere on the body, for a variety of ailments including back pain, neck pain, tendinopathies, joint pain, muscle soreness, and muscle restriction.

Our Dry Needling certified therapist, Anna Duffey PT DPT, utilizes DN as a complement to physical therapy for evaluation and management of neuromusculoskeletal conditions, pain, movement impairments, and disability. If you would like to know more information about Dry Needling or if you have any further questions please contact Anna at aduffey@beantownphysio.com or contact our Brookline office at 617-232-7246 to schedule an evaluation.
