Jason McHugh

PT, DPT, OCS

Jason McHugh, PT, DPT, OCS  is a graduate of Northeastern University. In 2006 he received a Bachelor's Degree in Rehabilitation Science and in 2008 his Doctorate in Physical Therapy. In 2012 he became board certified as a Clinical Specialist in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy (OCS) by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS)  formally recognizing him with advanced clinical knowledge, experience and skills in the clinical area of orthopaedics. He also was an active member in both the manual and shoulder special interest groups of the American Physical Therapy Association for many years.

Jason has experience from both inpatient and outpatient throughout a variety of Boston area locations, and started working for  Beantown Physio in 2013 as the director of physical therapy in our West Roxbury location. Jason specializes in manual therapy, strengthening and conditioning and neurodevelopment in the treatment of musculoskeletal disabilities in all age ranges. He enjoys working with patients of all age ranges treating athletic injuries, joint replacements, neck/back pain, shoulder dysfunctions, knee and ankle injuries. Jason's treatment style is evidence based with a combination of hands-on treatment along with exercises focused on good form/technique that will return the patient to a full baseline activity level without limitations. He also enjoys being an instructor for clinical students in their final years of their physical therapy programs.

Jason is a proud father of his two girls Maggie and Mary Lou and resides in Framingham, MA with them as well as his two Cardigan Welsh Corgi’s, Cora and Bitty. Outside of work Jason enjoys being active with cycling competing in multiple century rides per year as well as the strenuous 140 plus mile single day B2VT ride. He also enjoys hiking, cross training, traveling and visiting family in NH and Maine.
